  16. Beautifully expressed!! The society has a typical notion of what a woman should be, of what a wife should be and of what a mother should be but no one realises the struggles we go through in these different phases of our life. I can totally relate to your poem as now we are slowly breaking through these stereotypical notions.

  20. Loved the way you penned it, Shipra. The way you first laid out the stereotypes and then proceed to break them individually made it an interesting read. A number of women would identify with you and relate to the post. Women and particularly moms are expected to fit in a particular mold the society sets up for us.

  21. Hey Shipra

    Lovely reading you again.

You've summarised being a woman in such wonderful way that it is so relatable.

I appreciate the lady you are.

  22. And I loved knowing this woman. Women could be messy yet spotless, they could be imperfectly perfect in her own ways. Loved the way you have addressed each parameters society sets for a woman. Kudos.

  23. I found a lot of acceptance in your post that is rare in today's life. As a person you are still searching the perfections in all the imperfections of life somewhere I think I will end up to be like you say in the end of this decade. Thanks for writing this 😊😊😊👏👏👏🤗🤗🤗😘😜

  24. Lovely verses to celebrate the diversity of life. Its not often that someone admits their drawbacks and enjoys their best. Such writing helps your family appreciate you more too when they get to see the gist of who you are! You're beautiful inside where it matters! More power to you!

  29. Lovely post where you teach its great to live with your own strengths as well as weaknesses, or may be I should say you are content and its okay to break the typical wife or mom stereotypes to suit your life. The rhythmic presentation is too good.

  30. I am also in many terms similar to you . I also am not an expert in cooking ...I don't bother too much about home cleaning and decor ......I can take a nap even on a messed up bed....well you have beautifully written this ....you are a strong life partner and your hubby must be proud of you...

One thing I understand from this post is that the writer is a strong independent woman of the modern world. I loved the way you portrayed how you do your things for the love of it and not because the society dictates you to. Amazing read :)

    ReplyDelete
  33. Happy that you are living life on your own terms and enjoying it.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Women living their lives on their own terms are always subjected to criticism but you have slayed them systematically and orderly layer by layer. Loved the way you started and then ended it.

    ReplyDelete
  35. By reading this I can only say that you are a WOMAN of this real era, who holds both responsibilities of family and work together brilliantly, divide the chores practically, takes criticism sportingly, handle it smartly, because you know what is the best for your family, and this reflects the best part of your personality i.e.wisdom of your womanhood.

  36. Loved the way you described everything.Today women are living life at their own terms and they know very well what is better for their life.

  37. To be able to express what I feel as a woman is the toughest thing. I am often scared of the feminist label. But honestly being able to say what I want and heard in the same voice is a dream. I wish more people can read this poem where every line is a story and understand the real woman.

    ReplyDelete
  38. That was a very honest post. To understand your strengths and accept your weaknesses takes a lot of effort. I feel to be able to live the way you want to without the fear of being judged is an art which you seem you have been mastered. Cheers to you and all the best!! Loved your post!!

  41. I loved the fiercely unapologetic woman you are, Shipra! The world has created moulds that we have to fit into to be called perfect. Is that really necessary though? Why do what others want? Better to feel happy and make our family happy with what we offer them with all our heart!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Kudos to you for getting across that it's okay to not be the perfect mother, wife and woman. We need more posts like this!

  43. My God, this is bulls eye. I felt so much me...you spoke several women's voice...

Worshiping Krishna.. वसुदॆव सुतं दॆवं कंस चाणूर मर्दनम्..

Shri Krishna Ashtakam is a worshiping prayer devoted to Lord  Krishna praising his powers and glory. Ashtakam means a prayer which contains eight hymns(slokas). Each hymn or verse is composed of four phrases, each describing one quality or great acts of Sri Krishna. And, each sloka is composed in two lines. It is believed that krishnashtakam lyrics possess great powers. Here is the English translation of this holy verse : वसुदॆव सुतं दॆवं कंस चाणूर मर्दनम् । दॆवकी परमानन्दं कृष्णं वन्दॆ जगद्गुरुम् ॥1॥ Vasudeva Sutam Devam Kansa Chanura Mardanam... My 'Invisible' Accomplishments #DecadeHop #RRxMM

As we entered 2020, through this post I am trying to contemplate the coolest, most daring, and most significant feats of my life during the last decade. Now the more I regress my memory, the more I feel there are two types of achievements or accomplishments that I can ponder upon; Visible and Invisible. Visible ones are those that I can count on my finger like a parrot and others can nod also. I got specs on, married to a not-so-romantic man, produced a baby, started writing and added good 17 kgs in my body volume (I was 50 in 2011). However, there are many invisible accomplishments too that either I know silently or very few can assert. From 2011 to 2019, Who am I now From a coy soul to now an outspoken woman, the trek was not easy. I achieved it. From being a no-makeup girl to now a lipstick swatches observer, the transition was tough. But it happened. And from being a sweet hater to now a sweet lover, the change was mysterious yet occurred. And now I can die for Gulab Jamuns.
