The Rise Of Women Entrepreneurship In India #SuperBloggerChallenge2018 #Instacuppa

Over the past few years, India has seen a record growth in women entrepreneurship and more women are pursuing their career in this direction. At a global level, around 126 million women have started or are running their own businesses. Out of which around 8 million women have started or are running their businesses in India. Isn't it amazing? Gone are the days where women were not considered equal to their male counterparts. The new generation women have proved themselves equally capable and efficient. They have crossed all the hurdles and have proved themselves beyond doubt in all spheres of life including the most intricate and cumbersome world of entrepreneurship.

There are many reasons why the new era has many more women running successful businesses in India. Some of them I would like to highlight:
  • Better education is I feel should be on top. Now more and more parents are providing quality education to their daughters. They are giving all the resources so that they can do higher studies even in far cities.
  • Family support is playing a crucial role in letting women take a break from their household duties and wear the cap of a businesswoman. Support from spouse and extended family in managing kids is a real lift.
  • Increasing social acceptance of women entrepreneurship is the third reason in my list. People now believe in women entrepreneurs and see them as potential top business owners.
  • New technology has made things easier. These days women sitting at home are running their business through social media. This is a big reason for the rise of women entrepreneurship around.
  • Role models also play a vital in motivating us. When the first line of women entrepreneurs achieved their goals, they became role models for other ambitious women in the line. Inspiration can greatly help in chasing our dreams, right?
  • Now we have better access to finance to start our own venture. And this has greatly helped women leaders in dreaming their own businesses and then starting them.
  • And changing business trends have also facilitated to let a business as minor as menstruation awareness grow around the globe. The world is changing and becoming more and more open to new ideas. Aditi Gupta, the owner of Menstrupedia comic is the best example here.
Although the facts look promising, there are a few challenges as well that women are still facing while starting their own endeavor. Some of the key challenges are :
  • Access to technical and financial assistance
  • Family responsibilities
  • Lack of pro-gender opportunities at the top level
  • Competition from male-dominated business sector
A Few Indian women Entrepreneurs
Being a working woman, I feel so motivated whenever I read about women entrepreneurs of India. Each of them has inspiring stories. They come from different backgrounds and cities. And these ladies have given all of us a target to achieve in life, ie "prove your true capability." I have been working in software industry for more than 10 years now. I have proved my potential and craziness for technology. And I feel my hard work was recognized as well. Now deep in my heart, I also have a strong desire to start something my own.

However, my demanding job and family needs never let me take any risk so far. For a startup, a lot of effort, thought process, planning, preparation and of course finance is needed. And I am still not in that place to leave my well-paying job to start my own business. Howbeit, I keep myself updated about business trends. I read the stories of women entrepreneurs. I follow many of the websites who help startups and new businesses. I am part of communities who support and promote women entrepreneurs. So that whenever, I feel confident in future, I could take my own peril.

I would also like to share some of the ideas that I have in my mind and those are the businesses that can be started right from home. Here are those:
  1. Online consulting: Help small business owner to take their business online. Help genuine sellers establish online stores and guide them with valuable information as to how upload photographs that are attractive, how to write effective product descriptions and how to market their products online.
  2. Upcycling: If you are the one who turns any piece of trash in some unique and creative home decor then you can start an upcycling business. You can create your craft pieces and market them online and hence, earn an income.
  3. Food Service and delivery: The most commonly advised business for ladies who can manage cooking food in great quality. If you have superb culinary skills then you can whip up some delicious food in less time and you can rest assured that it will be hit. There are many working people who want home cooked healthy food rather than hanging around hotels every day.
  4. Event Planner: Are you a person possessing excellent leadership and management qualities? The current generation crowd loves to spend money for parties, marriages and many such functions. But they don't want to take the burden of organizing it themselves and constantly look out for organizers for their events. So, event planning is an exciting business option to consider.
  5. Blogging: How can I forget to mention it.  This service is evergreen and is best suited for a person willing to work specifically from home. All that you need is an internet connection.
I am planning to start a YouTube channel soon wherein I would feature some of the great pickle recipes of my mother-in-law. I would also showcase my mother's ways of making stuffed vegetables with their unique stuffing. All this and more are still in my mind. I hope soon I would take steps to make my dreams come true. Wish me luck!!

PS: This is the final post of week 10 in #SuperBloggerChallenge2018 #Instacuppa blogging challenge. So, I would like to thank our hosts for being super supportive all these weeks. I would also take this opportunity to wish good luck all my friends who were my co-participants in the challenge. Stay in touch all.

Worshiping Krishna.. वसुदॆव सुतं दॆवं कंस चाणूर मर्दनम्..

Shri Krishna Ashtakam is a worshiping prayer devoted to Lord  Krishna praising his powers and glory. Ashtakam means a prayer which contains eight hymns(slokas). Each hymn or verse is composed of four phrases, each describing one quality or great acts of Sri Krishna. And, each sloka is composed in two lines. It is believed that krishnashtakam lyrics possess great powers. Here is the English translation of this holy verse : वसुदॆव सुतं दॆवं कंस चाणूर मर्दनम् । दॆवकी परमानन्दं कृष्णं वन्दॆ जगद्गुरुम् ॥1॥ Vasudeva Sutam Devam Kansa Chanura Mardanam... Devaki Paramanandam Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum.. I pay my tribute to the teacher of this world Krishna, who is the son of Vasudev, who killed Kansa and Chanura and who is the source of great joy to Devaki. अतसी पुष्प सङ्काशं हार नूपुर शॊभितम् ।रत्न कङ्कण कॆयूरं कृष्णं वन्दॆ जगद्गुरुम् ॥ |2| Atasi Pushpa Sankasham Hara Nupura Shobhitam..Ratna Kankana Keyuram Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum... My 'Invisible' Accomplishments #DecadeHop #RRxMM

As we entered 2020, through this post I am trying to contemplate the coolest, most daring, and most significant feats of my life during the last decade. Now the more I regress my memory, the more I feel there are two types of achievements or accomplishments that I can ponder upon; Visible and Invisible. Visible ones are those that I can count on my finger like a parrot and others can nod also. I got specs on, married to a not-so-romantic man, produced a baby, started writing and added good 17 kgs in my body volume (I was 50 in 2011). However, there are many invisible accomplishments too that either I know silently or very few can assert. From 2011 to 2019, Who am I now From a coy soul to now an outspoken woman, the trek was not easy. I achieved it. From being a no-makeup girl to now a lipstick swatches observer, the transition was tough. But it happened. And from being a sweet hater to now a sweet lover, the change was mysterious yet occurred. And now I can die for Gulab Jamuns.

#TheWomanThatIAm #RRxMM I am not the woman who..

I am not the mother who.. I am not the mother who stayed longer with her newborn, I resumed office when he was barely 2 months old. I am not the mother who witnessed each of my kid's milestones, I got to know them when being told. I am not the mother who could tell breastfeeding stories, my child is a formula-fed gold. I am not the mother who keeps the house spotless, I let my son scatter toys and go overbold. I am not the mother who manages a detailed list for parenting chores, I often keep my to-dos on hold. I am not the mother whom people admire, I hear people calling me selfish and cold. ALSO I am a doting mother who tries to juggle between family and work every other minute.  I am a mother who watches silly cartoons with my boy.  I am a mother who repeatedly tells the same story every night.  I am a mother who cooks my son's favorite food every week.  And I am also a mother who is the closest person in my son's life! I am not the wife wh
