No more chocolates please!

I don't like writing against my in-laws but I am really miffed with one such habit which makes me go mad whenever I visit them. I live with my husband in Delhi, 600 km away from my in-laws as we both are working. On every special occasion and festival, we visit them. Ever since my son has born, each of the family members eagerly waits for my son. They all look forward enjoying with my jolly boy who is the youngest member of our joint family there. I can understand their feeling; they all love my son so much. But when my boy is there, people start handing him candies, chocolates, chips and other packaged items as a token of their love. I don’t understand how the expression of love suddenly converts into toffees and sweets.
My niece is in the habit of taking all this from everybody in our 15+ member joint family. In a day, at least 3 times, my father in law takes her to the nearest general store for buying chocolate or her favorite Kurkure. Kids get attracted towards chocolates and candies but 3 times in a day don’t look fair to me. Same thing happens to my boy when we are there and I really hate it. I know it’s a way to express their affection for my son that my family members go and get sweets for him. People to whom my boy denies to go, they put best of their efforts to trap him with offering chocolates which obviously works all the time. But I am concerned because it goes uncontrolled at times.
I’m amazed that how other people, even neighbors of my in-law’s place give candies to my son without even asking me. If it happens in front of me, I try to return it before my boy rips off the wrappers but it’s often when my back is turned, and then it’s too late. Every time it happens in front of me, I get into a dilemma, should I snatch it from my son’s hand and create a drama in public? Or, should I only grin in front of the person who has given it. Mostly my father in law and brother in law get such things for my boy and I can’t dare to snatch it and make them feel bad. I believe their intention is always good whenever they buy such things. But I don’t think they evaluate heath concerns and junk intake when they buy Kurkure or chocolates more than what a 2 years old can eat.
It’s not that chocolate/candy every so often is a big deal. But I’m particular about what kinds I give to my boy and how often he should have it. I work hard to keep bad sugars, junk, and chemicals out of his diet and I don’t like when people offer unknown kinds of chips and candies to my baby. So I have started politely telling people not to buy chips/candies/ chocolates for my boy. And I give a reason of health and my son being particular about types of these eatables. I know partially I am lying because most of the kids can eat chocolate of any kind/brand but I’m not sure what else to do. I compromise the situation with giving my son only a single piece of chocolate bar, promising rest for later and slowly I hide it forever.
If it happens only once in blue moon, it would be different, but this has been happening at least twice in a day, and it’s driving me crazy. I am a working mother and I don’t want my son to get unhealthy habits which can lead future health issues. To balance office and my boy’s sickness is always a big challenge for a mother like me, so I want to keep a balanced lifestyle which is full of fun and little control over unhealthy practices.

Be Healthy With Infused Water And InstaCuppa #SuperBloggerChallenge2018 #Instacuppa

Two things are in my mind mostly these days: Having a healthy Lifestyle and Staying Happy.
Happiness and good health are very much connected to each other, isn't it? If you are happy your health remains good. And if you are healthy, you keep on increasing your happiness. The easiest trick to stay healthy is to have a good water intake every day. However, as simple as it looks, for most of the people, drinking sufficient water every day is a task. They somehow ignore this very essential need of the human body. Every single cell in our body needs water to function properly. The result of less water intake is eventual dehydration, dull face, fatigue, bloating and weak immune system.

Can drinking water help you stay healthy? Spoiler alert, YES IT CAN!

Now, if you are bored of having the plane, tasteless water, then you must know about INFUSED WATER. Infused water is adding different kinds of fruit, vegetables, and herbs to water and letting it settle for some time. This way, all antiox…

The Young Chronicle - A Personal News App For Kids

Our kids these days are spending a good amount of time checking and using today's smartphone. And the most amusing thing is kids are getting, even more, smarter to understand this whole world of apps, games, selfies and video recording. In no time they understand how such and such app works. In very less time, they skill those gimmicky games and challenge us showing the score. However, this screen time should be controlled for good health of a child. For parents, it is a responsibility to keep an eye on what content kids are watching, what types of games they are playing and what things they are sharing on social media.

Being a new generation people, we can't live separated from our phones. Neither can we keep our kids completely away from using phones. But what we can do is to facilitate things that can be helpful for kids even if they come in the form of phone apps and games. Educational apps and informative games can provide our kids much-needed insight and knowledge. One…
