Dear Vivek Oberoi, you are really an inspiration

Actor Vivek Oberoi turned a year older on last Saturday (September 3).I know there is nothing special about him turning 40 this year, I also turned 31 last month. But I find his birthday celebration a topic to discuss because his gesture really impressed me. Like every year, the actor celebrated the day with a special set of people who are part of his life. These people are the kids who are fighting cancer, or who have fought the disease and survived.Vivek’s charity organization in association with Cancer Patients Aid Association organized a special event for such kids last week. The kids were so delighted to see Vivek and they enjoyed the day with big smiles on their faces. Isn't a noble way of celebrating a birthday? Mare thinking about the lives of the kids, who are fighting with such a critical disease, bring tears to my eyes. When my son gets normal flu I get tensed and disturbed seeing his discomfort. How difficult would be the life of those kids who are seeing hospitals, me…

Weekends are precious for me

You might be thinking what's new in this title "Weekends are precious for me". Until I go out of the main door, I only wish my little one to keep on sleeping during five weekdays. If he wakes up, he cries for me and my heart bleeds in leaving him crying. My weekends are valuable because for these two days I can see my son's heart winning smile when he wakes up in the morning. That smile is even precious than the biggest diamond in this world. I say good morning and he smiles, I kiss him and he laughs, I cuddle hi…

The disappearing art of letter writing

Do you remember last time when you wrote a letter to someone? Honestly, I can't tell when last time I wrote a personal letter to anybody. My last written communication was in the year 2009 when something was wrong with my SBI account and I wrote an application to the branch manager regarding this. But it's been 7 long years since I have not used pen and paper for writing anything thoughtful as a letter! Why am I tossing around letter writing? Because recently I got a chance to listen to a lady who made me realize that nothing can replace letter writing, although we now have better new age communication mediums like email, texting, facebook and many more. The lady, Laxmi, is a social entrepreneur and most importantly a family person. She shared that she traveled countries to countries for many years because of her work needs. And during these years, she couldn't meet her aging father with much of time. However, her father did an amazing thing in last two years of his life as…
